NEA DIAGNOSIS, Diagnostic Centers Group is conducting tests to detect the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.
1. Antibody Detection Test against the New Coronavirus “SARS-CoV-2”
2. Molecular Detection (RT-PCR) of the new Coronavirus “SARS-CoV-2”
3. Rapid Antigen (Ag) test against the new Coronary “Sars-CoV-2”
1. Antibody Detection Test against the New Coronavirus “SARS-CoV-2”
The new test uses a blood sample (simple blood sampling procedure) to determine the body’s immune response by detecting antibodies to SARS-CoV-2. Antibody tests are crucial for detecting contacts of COVID-19 infection cases, for determining previous exposure, and for epidemiological studies. The test determines if the patient is infected with SARS-CoV-2 and now has antibodies to the virus or if there is a need for further testing. In other words, it can be determined if a person has been exposed to the virus and if the patient has developed antibodies. It is not suitable to diagnose the infection when it’s on its pick of the cycle. A basic condition for performing the antibody test is that the patient is not in a febrile state and has no symptoms of a virus in the last 15 days.
The test can be used in combination with molecular tests to help diagnose suspected cases of COVID-19 infection.
2. Molecular Detection (RT-PCR) of the new Coronavirus “SARS-CoV-2”
Molecular Detection (RT-PCR) of the new Coronary “Sars-CoV-2” (molecular test) is used to confirm the infection of the virus, to monitor the carriers of the disease and for epidemiological reasons. Molecular testing for SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus is performed by the real-time reverse polymerase chain reaction (rRT-PCR) method and is used for the qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus RNA from samples from the upper and lower respiratory. SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus RNA is generally detectable in respiratory specimens during the acute phase of infection. SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus is found in higher concentrations in the nasopharynx during the first 3 to 5 days of symptomatic disease.
3. Rapid Antigen (Ag) test against the new Coronary “Sars-CoV-2”
The Rapid Antigen test (Ag) is a rapid immunochromatography test for the qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 antigens in a nasopharyngeal sample. Its contribution is important in the diagnosis of respiratory infection by the new Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) due to the speed, reliability, and coincidence of results with molecular techniques. Specifically, its use is indicated in asymptomatic case controls, where speed in clinical assessment is required.
1. Antibody Detection Test against the New Coronavirus “SARS-CoV-2”
In Antibody Detection Tests, the following Test Teams are performed:
- In the First Examination Group, they are detected with RAPID TEST (fast test), SARS – CoV-2 (IgG – IgM), with a cost of 60 € and results within 30 minutes from the receipt of the sample.
- In the Second Examination Group, total antibodies (IgG – IgM – IgA) are detected, with a cost of 55 € and the same day if the sample is received by 15:00.
The analysis is performed using the Elecsys® Anti-SARS-CoV-2 test, with the method of electrochemiluminescence, in Roche analyzers and is approved by the EU with a CE mark. The resulting sensitivity is 100% and the specificity greater than 99.8%.
The high specificity of the test is particularly important to reliably determine if a person has been exposed to the virus and if the patient has developed antibodies. High specificity also reduces the risk of cross-reactivity with antibodies to other human coronaviruses, such as those that cause the common cold.
2. Molecular Detection (RT-PCR) of the new Coronavirus “SARS-CoV-2”
The Molecular Detection (RT-PCR) of the new Corona “Sars-CoV-2” (molecular control) has a cost of 47 € (35 € sample analysis & 12 € sample taking), when the collection is performed in specially designed and separate areas of our Units in the areas of Panormou, Egaleo and Agios Dimitrios. There is also the possibility of taking a sample from home. It is recommended for people who are currently experiencing symptoms of covid-19 disease. The results, depending on the time of sampling, are given the same or the next day.
3. Rapid Antigen (Ag) test against the new Coronary “Sars-CoV-2”
The Rapid Antigen (Ag) test against the new Coronary “Sars-CoV-2” is worth € 10 (sample analysis & sampling), while the test result is known to the subject within 20 minutes of receiving the nasopharyngeal smear. The specific test used by Nea Diagnosis has a Diagnostic Specialty (in high viral load) 99.9%, means that if the result is positive the error rate is 0.1% and Diagnostic Sensitivity (in high viral load) 97.3 % means that if the result is negative the error rate is 2.7%.
Antibody Detection Test Against New Coronavirus “SARS-CoV-2”
To perform the antibody test against the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, simple blood sampling is required through the home blood sampling service (tel .: 210. 69.96.500), by appointment and if a specific questionnaire has been received from the staff of the center for your recent state of health. A prerequisite for the examination is that the examinee does not have a fever and symptoms of a virus for the last 15 days.
2. Molecular Detection (RT-PCR) of the new Coronavirus “SARS-CoV-2”
Molecular Detection (RT-PCR) examination of the new Coronary “Sars-CoV-2” requires a nasopharyngeal sample, either through the home collection service or in the specially designed and separate areas of our Units, in the areas of Panormou, Egaleo and Agios Dimitrios. The examination is carried out by appointment and if a specific questionnaire has been received by the secretary of the center.
3. Rapid Antigen (Ag) test against the new Coronary “Sars-CoV-2”
To perform the Rapid Antigen (Ag) test against the new Coronary “Sars-CoV-2”, a nasopharyngeal sample is required, which is performed in the specially designed and separate areas of our Units in the areas of Panormos, Egaleo and Agios Dimitrios. The examination is carried out by appointment and if a specific questionnaire has been received by the secretariat of the center.
For each of the above cases of coronavirus detection tests, for your safety, your convenience and the protection of public health, we recommend you send the results electronically, so that you do not have to come to any of our Diagnostic Units. Nea Diagnosis Medical Staff follows all control procedures and is in line with the instructions of the Health Authorities, regarding the precaution, and the hygiene rules for the protection of the transmission of covid-19.
Each examinee must take personal protective measures during the blood sampling, ie wear a mask and gloves.
