The microbiological laboratory is a complete department with possibilities to perform various types of microbiological tests on biological fluids and secretions.

Examples include cultures (aerobic, anaerobic), microbial identification (conventional biochemical methods, API system, Phadebact, etc.), control of microbial susceptibility to antibiotics, diagnostic tests for infections by mycoplasmas, chlamydia as well as control of skin lesions, nails, and hair for fungi. Our centers have a vast experience in this field.

Also, sperm tests (sperm diagram, sperm biochemical parameters and other indicators), microbiological control of the prostate and lower urogenital system are also performed with the Meares-Stamey method.

Our department perfoms a whole range of biochemical tests. The instruments available are:

ROCHE COBAS C 501 (2) Automatic Multi-Potential Automatic Biochemical Analyzers, AVL Ion-Selective Electrodes (9181) (ROCHE), Microlab200 Spectrophotometer, HyrysSebia Electrophoresis System, SAS-1PLUS, SAS-2 (by HELENA).

The department has the ability to perform electrophoresis (albumin, lipoprotein, alkaline phosphatase), immunoelectrophoretic (serum and urine). It is also possible to determine specific proteins in the serum, drug levels, alcohol test, as well as detection of drugs in the urine. The results are evaluated by experienced scientists with daily internal programs.

The hormonal department can perform tests of almost all type of hormones (as well as neoplastic markers and osteoporosis).

The continuous effort and experience of the doctors in the department, has made it into one of the most reliable departments of hormonal determinations.

The departments equipment includes Roche analyzers COBAS E 601 (2) and COBAS E 411 (2)
