Radiological Department

X-Ray Department
Examinations
Our radiology laboratory is equipped with modern PHILIPS and SIEMENS remote radiological machines.
The quality and settings of the equipment ensure that X-rays are taken with the least possible dose of radiation. At the same time, all radiographs are digitized through modern digitizers and digital image archiving (PACS).
The department offer the following examinations:
- Basic X-Rays
- Special radiographs such as orthopedic, ENT and pediatric.
- Radiographic examinations, hysterosalpingography, pyelography,
- Stomach and colon examinations with double sketching, ascending cystograms.
Our digital mammograph (HOLOGIC brand) has a low dose digital detector and operates according to the international standards. It has innovative and patented features that ensure diagnosis from the very first stage.
Patients do not suffer from repetitive compressions as in other systems while the total time of the examination is majorly minimized. There is also an option to perform special shots like location, magnification shots, etc.
The diagnostic study is performed in special diagnostic stations, with 5MP high resolution screens.
The SELENIA mammogram which performs the highest MTF (digital system resolution index) of 90%, ensures a quick and valid diagnosis. At the same time, NEA DIAGNOSIS is one of the few Diagnostic centers in Greece that has a TOMOSYNTHETIC DIGITAL MAMMOGRAPH. TOMOSYNTHESIS is the latest technology to maximize diagnostic accuracy in breast diseases as it is a 3D imaging technology.
DIGITAL TOMOSYNTHESIS complements the digital mammography as the basic examination in combination with breast ultrasound, to maximize the DIAGNOSTIC ACCURACY of any suspicious findings in the diagnosis.
Our orthopantograph is SIEMENS latest technology. We perform panoramic radiographs of the jaws, cephalometric radiographs, and special temporomandibular joint shots.
The osteoporosis department is equipped with GENERAL ELECTRIC and NORLAND osteoponometers. We use internationally recognized osteoponometry methods with double energy X photon absorption. (DEXA)
It is possible to obtain bone density values from various parts of the body (OMSS, hips and full body). Also, the ability of archiving the exams allows the long-term monitoring of the bone density values of the examinees in great detail.
The computed tomography (C Tscan) is a radiographic examination performed on a CT scanner, an electronic device that uses high-tech X-ray technology to take images of cross-sections of the body.
It can show the brain and other parts of the body, which cannot be adequately imaged on simple radiological examinations. The CT scanner can diagnose diseases with more certainty and accuracy than other imaging methods.
Most diseases are better treated when diagnosed earlier, so CT scans can save lives if used early.
The magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a unique imaging technique that unlike radiography or computed tomography, it does not use ionizing radiation. Instead, it uses radio waves and magnetic fields, and with the help of powerful computers produces detailed images of the body with special emphasis on organs such as the brain, spinal cord, musculoskeletal system, and blood vessels.
NEA DIAGNOSIS owns a SIEMENS 1.5 T magnetic tomography with the ability to examine all areas of the body (breast magnetic, angiography, brain magnetic, spinal cord, etc.)
Some of the advantages of the MRI are:
- No use of X-rays
- No side effects
- Depicts in unique detail most parts of the body
- The right exam to check the central nervous and musculoskeletal system
- Receives sections in three levels perpendicular to each other
